Character
Old club, new calm
The Surf Club opened in 1930 as a members' beach club whose guest lists became Miami legend. Today its original Mediterranean Revival clubhouse sits at the center of a modern complex, with interiors by Joseph Dirand in white, travertine and pale oak. The result is serene to the point of hush.
It suits couples, milestone trips and families who want space and privacy rather than a scene. Surfside is a small, residential town; evenings tend to be spent in the hotel's restaurants or a short drive away.

Dining
Keller and Lido
- The Surf Club Restaurant by Thomas Keller, a mid-century continental menu in the historic clubhouse.
- Lido for Mediterranean cooking by the water.
- Winston's on the Beach for casual eating on the sand.
- Champagne Bar for drinks before dinner.
The restaurants are destinations for non-staying guests too, so reservations are requested early and are not guaranteed.
Beach and pools
Quiet sand, several pools
The hotel has a serviced beach and three pools: one adults-only, one for families and one lined with cabanas; cabanas are reserved separately at extra cost. The Surfside beach is noticeably calmer than South Beach.
Wellness
Spa and hammam
The spa has six treatment rooms and a hammam, plus a fitness center. Treatments and thermal access are confirmed with the hotel.
Location and planning
Surfside, next to Bal Harbour
Bal Harbour Shops are a few minutes north; South Beach is 20–30 minutes south. Not every room faces the ocean, so if the view matters, say so first. Residential suites with kitchens and the Beach Villa are confirmed individually.
Choosing well
When quiet is the luxury
This is the collection's most hushed beach address. Choose it when the trip is about rest, a significant anniversary or time together as a family, and when you would happily dine at home two nights out of three. If the room view is essential, mention it first, since only some categories face the ocean.
Surfside's small village center, with cafés and a weekly rhythm of locals, is a short walk, and Bal Harbour's shops and the St. Regis are just to the north. Families appreciate the residential suites with kitchens; couples tend to favor the ocean-view rooms and quiet evenings in the clubhouse bar. Book well ahead for holiday weeks, when the hotel's limited ocean-facing inventory goes first.
