Character
A hotel as stagecraft
Faena restored the 1948 Saxony Hotel and handed its interiors to Baz Luhrmann and Catherine Martin, who answered with crimson, leopard, gilded columns and murals. Contemporary art is part of the fabric of the place, and the wider Faena District adds a forum and arts programming.
It suits celebrations, couples who like dressing up, and travelers drawn to culture with a sense of occasion. If you want minimalism or anonymity, this is the wrong stage.

Choosing well
Planning an occasion here
Faena is at its best when there is something to celebrate. Book the show or Los Fuegos before you travel, choose an ocean-view room if you want morning light, and keep at least one night free to explore the wider Faena District on foot.
The Faena District itself is part of the stay. Faena Forum hosts performances and exhibitions, Faena Bazaar gathers boutiques, and the beach walk links north toward Mid-Beach and south toward Collins Park. Couples celebrating an anniversary or birthday, groups of friends who enjoy a dressed-up dinner, and art-minded travelers visiting during Art Basel week tend to fit best. Families can stay, but the hotel's mood is adult and nocturnal. If you want the same Mid-Beach location with a quieter, more residential feel, ask Noemie to compare Soho Beach House or the EDITION, each a few minutes away and very different in tone. Whatever you choose, plan your first evening in advance; it sets the tone for the whole stay.
